After 28 years of living in Round Rock we decided it was time to move to the family farm, and get out of the big city. We had been very involved in FFA and 4-H while the girls were showing animals, and we had a small show pig production for 10 years.   In 2014 we moved to Thorndale and began the process of renovating the 1904 family farm house, and started our White Dorper herd with the help of Yucca Lily Ranch.  We jumped all in with 40 ewes and a ram, and by the end of 2016 we will have grown the herd to having 80 ewes in production.  M Bar W Ranch, home of M Bar W White Dorpers is a family business for Aaron and Edie and their three children Kayla, Kristen and Alfred.    We love the White Dorpers and their amazing fit to the Texas climate.  They are a hair sheep which shed their wool making them low maintenance.  They are also drought tolerate, and prefer eating weeds over grass.  We would love to help you start your own White Dorper herd, or improve the genetics of an existing herd.
